PO-03-095 SEX-RELATED DIFFERENCES IN ATRIAL SUBSTRATE IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING PULMONARY VEIN ISOLATION; A PROSPECTIVE, MULTICENTER STUDY

چکیده

Sex-related differences have been reported among patients undergoing pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). Atrial substrate plays a major role in the outcomes after ablation but sex-related atrial never described detail. We sought to analyze remodeling (spontaneous low-voltage zones (LVZ)) and their clinical relevance PVI. conducted prospective multicenter study, including consecutive first PVI-only AF ablation. LVZs were analyzed on high-density electroanatomical maps collected with multipolar catheter, prior 262 (61±11 years, 31% females, 50% persistent AF) followed for 28 months. In women, larger (10% vs. 4% of LA surface (p < 0.001)) more women had high-burden (>15%) (24% 8% 0.001)). spite having advanced remodeling, recurrence-free survival was similar between men (Log-Rank p=0.2). The presence >5% LVZ significantly associated recurrence (HR:3.0, p<0.001) not (HR:1.9, p=0.07). only >15% (HR: 2.7, p=0.02). Women widespread all regions. Despite extensive efficacy is become prognostic at high burden (>15%). seem different women.

Serial assessment of left atrial deformation in patients undergoing pulmonary vein isolation: a cardiovascular magnetic resonance feasibility study

Background Left atrial (LA) performance quantification using Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) is of growing interest. There is evidence that declined left atrial function is associated with a poorer outcome following pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) in atrial fibrillation (AF). Furthermore, the influence of PVI on left atrial performance has not yet been investigated comprehensively. This ...

Aberrant Pulmonary Vein Draining to Left Atrial Roof in a Patient Undergoing Percutaneous Circumferential Pulmonary Vein Isolation

Implication for health policy/practice/research/medical education: In this image, we are trying to convey an important message regarding the detection of vascular anomaly in patients who are candidate for catheter LA ablation. Detection of the aberrant PVs is highly important because these PVs may be the origin of the ectopies initiating AF and it helps us to prevent important complications suc...

Left atrial-pulmonary vein reentrant tachycardia following pulmonary vein isolation.

Pulmonary vein isolation has become the cornerstone of ablation for atrial fibrillation. However, it is sometimes followed by the development of left atrial macro-reentrant tachycardia. There is evidence to suggest that the myocardial sleeves within the pulmonary veins may be implicated in the mechanism of the tachycardia. Here we present a case of a post-ablation macro-reentrant tachycardia, i...

Spatiotemporal organization of the left atrial substrate after circumferential pulmonary vein isolation of atrial fibrillation.

BACKGROUND There is a paucity of data regarding the mechanism of maintaining atrial fibrillation (AF) after pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) in patients with AF. The aim of this study was to examine the impact of circumferential PVI on the left atrial (LA) substrate characteristics. METHODS AND RESULTS Seventy-two AF patients (age, 53+/-11 years) underwent mapping and catheter ablation using an...

Pulmonary vein isolation without left atrial mapping

BACKGROUND One of the crucial points during in most approaches developed for ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) is the ability to identify the pulmonary vein (PVs) and to accurately locate their ostia. OBJECTIVES The purpose of this case series was to investigate a simplified method for fusion of the multislice computer tomography (CT) derived 3D dataset with the electroanatomical map in or...
